Watch The Amazement As These Veterans Open Up A Modern Day First Aid Kit

Military veterans from Desert Storm, Vietnam, Korea and World War II were given the opportunity to look at a first aid kit the military is currently using on deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan. The veterans were amazed at the contents as many carried kits that had only contained sulfa powder and bandages. There is a vast improvement over the World War II kit and today’s kit.

The World War II kit included a tube of morphine tartrate, eight sulfadiazine tablets, sulfanilamide crystalline, small dressing, and a field tourniquet. Today’s modern kit comes in a pouch with a lanyard insert and has a self-applied tourniquet, nasopharyngeal airway tube, wide roll adhesive tape, emergency compression bandage, primed gauze, and non-sterile latex gloves.
