It has been 76 years since Belgium, The Netherlands, and France were invaded by the German armies. A color video tells the story of the German Blitzkrieg in the West and rattles our memories about this event. Two main operations comprised the German invasion plan. In Case Yellow (Fall Gelb) the armored units from the German military pushed into Belgium and the Netherlands by way of the Ardennes and the Somme Valley in order to cut off and then surround the units of the Allied Forces that had made their way into Belgium to face off the anticipated German threat.

After the Belgian, British, and some French forces were pushed back toward the sea by a well-organized mobile operation, the British government made the call to evacuate the British Expeditionary Force and multiple divisions of French military from Dunkirk at Operation Dynamo.
