The Tank Museum has announced the latest book in its Guide To series, The Tank Museum Guide to Leopard 1, and purchasers have a chance to get their name in the acknowledgements section of the release.

The Leopard 1 was the first fully German-developed family of combat vehicles after the Second World War, owing much to the design concepts developed through combat experience during the latter stages of the conflict.
The Tank Museum Guide to Leopard 1 tells the story of the tank’s development and gives a detailed description of its operating systems, maintenance and repair. Featuring more than 300 photographs and a detailed walk‑around of the Tank Museum’s Leopard AS1, the book includes first‑hand insights from Australian Army crew members offering their perspectives on operation and maintenance.
It was written by military vehicles author Michael K. Cecil, formerly head of Military Heraldry and Technology at the Australian War Memorial, and co-authored by Michael Shackleton, author of Leopard 1 Trilogy: Production to Prototype.
The Tank Museum’s Assistant Marketing Manager Gemma Butler said in a press release:
“Our Guide to Leopard 1 gives enthusiasts an exciting opportunity to read a comprehensive study of one of the Cold War’s most important Main Battle Tanks.
“Joining our existing series of self-published books, this book tells the fascinating history of the Leopard 1 – from its design in 1963 to its future with a growing list of nations.”
