Vintage Weaponry Discovered in Manila

In Binodo has had an interesting week earlier in April. Vintage cannons were being discovered during road works. Workers from the Department of Public works and Highways discovered two cannons while they were repairing a drainage system in Muelle de la Industria on Juan Luna Street.

Each cannon weighs a ton and is approximately three meters in length. The Manila Police District Bomb Squad Chief Inspector, Arnold Santos, said they will donate the cannons to Camp Crame until they can decide where the munitions should be displayed. Just a few days later, another vintage weapon was discovered. The DPWH discovered a French-made 25mm Hotchkiss anti-aircraft machine gun. This was discovered at Araullo High School on the corner of Taft Avenue and United Nations Avenue in Manila. The weapon was believed to be used by the Japanese military during the Second World War.

According to Yahoo News, there are talks of the Manila Police Department displaying the machine guns at their headquarters.
