New Expansions For World War Two First Person Shooter Game From New World Interactive

“Day of Infamy” is a standalone expansion to 2014’s “Insurgency.”  It’s a First-Person-Shooter based on World War II and has just entered Early Access Beta status.  There’s been a major update with new features (stats, rankings, unit system, air support, new game modes and visual updates), a bunch of bug fixes and a new trailer.

“Day of Infamy” was already available as “Early Access,” so that part isn’t new.  What’s new is cosmetic unit items when your player moves up in rank with the appropriate patch appearing on their uniform.

Carpet bombing is available to all factions.  The US can call for Mustang strafing runs, and the Germans can call for Stuka dive bomber attacks.

New World Interactive is the developer. They are releasing “First Wave” units for Early Access players. There is one per faction: The Gordon Highlanders for the Commonwealth, the 1st Ranger Battalion for the US, and the 1st Infanterie Division for Germany. They are currently developing Fallschirmjäger, 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions and the 92nd “Buffalo Soldiers” Infantry Division.

They are also planning Canadian, Australian and Indian regiments, PC Gamer reported.

Day of Infantry is 25% off as part of the Steam Winter Sale.
