Final Days of the Reich

This is new offering in the Images of War series includes some truly excellent photographs,  In my many years photographing living history groups, the question of attention to detail has never need to be raised, but when it comes to battle re-enactments,

with the odd exception, the one thing always missing is the degree of tension that must only come from exposure to combat. In this book there are images where stress and strain is often etched on the faces of the men shown. In some it easy to ponder their fate as the sky fell in on the Third Reich.

Ian Baxter has gathered together a superb collection of images showing the German army and the SS during the final days of the Nazi era. Whether it be armour, artillery or the poor bloody infantry, this book has something for everyone. I don’t think I have seen any of the photographs before. Collectors of this type of book will not be disappointed.
