Crazy Tanker Drifts Around A Corner Too Fast, The Result Is Predictable!

A couple of days ago we had a video on War History Online about an M1 Abrams tanks gently sliding around a corner on an icy track in Norway. They were there to learn to control their metal monsters on icy roads. This video is slightly different, it shows a Russian Tank Biathlon where their tank drivers can show off their skills.

First, they have to go through a 90-degree turn at high speed, where drifting the tank seems to be the rule rather thank the exception. Then it’s into a massive water basin where the objective seems to be to create the biggest splash ever. For a moment, the tanks completely disappear in a torrent of water until they fly out again at top speed.

However, not all is well for one driver who is a bit over ambitious and tries to go around the corner too fast. He drifts and slides and then things go pear-shaped very quickly! You can even hear the cameraman yelling in Russian “this is so going on YouTube”!

The crew of the tank survived alive and well, only suffering some bruising and of course a massive dent in their egos.
