TWO German WWII Halftracks Pulled From River in Poland

Two rare German halftracks from WWII – a Sd. Kfz. 250 – light armored halftrack and a Sd. Kfz. 7 halftrack artillery tractor were excavated form Pilica river near Białobrzegi town in Poland in early October.

Both are now in restoration in private Museum of Military Technology Monuments. The Sd. Kfz. 250 is in very good condition with original painting still on. You can see the emblem of 25th Panzer Division on the right side of the front of the car. If the engine is intact the restoration to full mobility will not take long.

There are some parts missing, and some with minor damages probably due to an explosion which occurred between those two vehicles – probably the Germans were trying to destroy them as they were unable to reach the top of high river bank. There were lots of stuff inside the vehicle.

Personal items, boots, tools and all of them are now carefully restored by specialists.

The video is narrated in Polish but the images are simply stunning, two time capsules, untouched since the end of WWII!
