Call of Duty: Available for Free from Sony

Activision

Call of Duty: WWII was released in 2017 and immediately became known as one of the best games in the venerable franchise. Started on May 26th, Sony has made the game free for anyone who purchases Playstation Plus.

Playstation Plus is Sony’s subscription service which gives Playstation 4 players access to online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, 100 GB of online storage which allows them to transfer their games from one Playstation to another through the cloud, Share Play (which allows other people to watch you play or participate in the game with you), and two free games every month. Once members download the free games, they are available for them to keep.

The other free game this month is Star Wars Battlefront II.

Electronic Arts

If you need additional incentive, PlayStation Plus subscriptions are currently 30% off in the PlayStation Store. Normally, a 12-month membership will set you back $60. Until June 17th, it is only $41.99.

The free version of Call of Duty: WWII is the base version of the game. This gets you the single-player campaign, Zombie mode and the multiplayer maps. One of the multiplayer modes included with the game is War Mode which has been praised as one of the best multiplayer modes in the series.

If you want to get all of the additional downloadable content, you’ll have to buy those packs extra.

Originally released in November 2017, Call of Duty: WWII was developed by Sledgehammer Games. It is notable because it returns to the World War II setting where the original Call of Duty game from 2003 took place.

The game places players in the action at the beaches of Normandy on D-Day and takes them through some of the pivotal battles of the war as they march across Europe.
