Car vs Cobra Helicopter, The Car Wins When Things Go Wrong

Just when you think you know what’s going to happen – it all changes with a plot twist.

This challenge pits Kim Jin Pyo (Presenter of Top Gear Korea) in a Corvette ZR1 against an AH-1 Cobra helicopter. This is a true Top Gear challenge. Helicopter versus car – you would never think the car could cross the finishing line first!

The AH-1 Cobra was the main helicopter used in the US Army’s fleet of helicopters. It has since been replaced as the main vehicle with the AH-64 Apache. The AH-1 was produced by Bell

The AH-1 was produced by Bell Helicopter, and developed using components from previous models of helicopters that Bell had produced.

There are still models of AH1 Cobras that have been modified and still in use throughout the world. The twin-engine version of this vehicle still remains in use by the US Marine Corps (USMC) as its main attack chopper.

Excess AH-1s are known to be used to help fire-fight in forests; these are known as Bell 209 ‘Firesnakes’. The Florida Division of Forestry has three in service and they’re fully equipped with fire-fighting systems.

One thing is for sure – the helicopter that is shown in this video will not be back in action anytime soon!
