NEW TANK HISTORY

The chaps at Eagle Rock Entertainment got in touch to tell us about a three DVD boxed set to be released on May 12th. The War Zone: Historic Tanks & Battles of WWII pretty much speaks for itself as titles go. The range of subjects covered looks pretty varied as far as we can tell and it will be interesting to see how these films turn out.

The box set is available to pre-order from April 17th and is priced at $17.98 MSRP.

As ever we don’t see much point in copying all the information from the press release we received, so we’ll let Eagle Rock tell you what to expect.

Through the use of rare archive film, 3D graphics, and unique insightsfrom leading authorities on armored warfare, Historic Tanks & Battles Of WWII examines the evolution of the tank, as well as the variety ofit’s incarnations. The set takes an in-depth look at several tanksdeveloped both prior to and during WWII, from Germany’s steelTigers, to Britain’s Churchill tank, Russia’s T34 to the United States Sherman.

Additionally, the DVD spotlights three battles that established the tank as major components for both sides of WWII:The Battle of Kursk, the Battle of Normandy, and the ArdennesOffensive.

Historic Tanks & Battles Of WWII, at 443 minutes rich, will be awelcome addition to any history fan’s library.

This all sounds pretty straightforward. We plan to bring you a review of the set in the near future courtesy of a very nice man in Ohio. Meantime here is listing of what you can expect on each disc.
