MATILDA DIARIES Part 7 – Follow The Renovation Of This Historic Second World War Tank

Following on from the news regarding the Matilda II renovation, a new series of videos are being produced for The Tank Museum YouTube channel that will track the progress of a project called “The Matilda Diaries.”

Throughout the course of this new series, some of the questions and challenges involved with the project overall will be explored, including the process of dismantling and reassembling a 70-year-old vehicle.

There are questions of authenticity, honoring provenance, funding, and the vehicle’s place in The Tank Museum’s collection to be considered – not to mention a great deal of mechanical problem-solving.

The Museum is hopeful that, by the time the vehicle drives out of the workshop, we will all be better informed about this great British tank.

Make sure you don’t miss out on any updates and subscribe to The Tank Museum YouTube channel here.

In this short episode Workshop Technician, Andy Price briefly explains how the Workshop team intend to move the hull for painting.

Though when it actually comes to moving the hull, it looks like some mechanization might be helpful as you will see!
