‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘127 Hours’ Team To Make WWII Miniseries about the Heroes of Telemark!

The team who made Oscar-winning ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘127 Hours’ are bent on making their first TV project – a World War II miniseries set to be shown in FX.

Like the two previous films the team made, the project with the working title Telemark is based on true events and centers on a band of Norwegian resistance mercenaries who were trained in Great Britain and crippled Hitler’s nuclear program during WWII.

Christian Colson is set to produce the miniseries, with Danny Boyle as director and Simon Beaufoy writing the script.

“This is one of the world’s greatest stories and we want to tell it on an epic scale,” director Boyle was quoted saying about the project.

“As we all know, some of the very best narrative fiction ever told is currently being created as episodic television. This incredible story is ideally suited to the slower burn and added complexity that the longer format allows and I cant’ wait to get my teeth into this,” Beaufoy stated in a statement which officially announced the project.

There is still no word about when the series will be aired but the said project might start filming by next year. Telemark is just one of the few ‘limited series’ which FX planned on showing in its cable channel.
