About War History Online

Launched by the team that brought to you the Bart Vanderveen award winning website HMVF and Armour and Embarkation - the UK’s first tank event.

For readers of military history who want to know what’s going on in the world, but don’t have the time read a daily newspaper from cover to cover – let alone all of them. On top of that, there’s a plethora of TV, magazines, forums, blogs, Facebook, Twitter and  thousands of websites to keep up with.

So War History Online has saved you the time and hassle…

War History Online takes the very best of the British and international military history news and comment, and distils it into one online magazine. To help you keep abreast of events and form your own opinion of the latest issues.

The first of it’s kind in the world…

News, history and information exchange is our business.  We are, and will be delivering more news and history to more people, more often, in more ways than ever. And we are continuing to invest in technology where we can deliver everything you need straight to your PC, your smartphone and PC tablets.  This means that you can access War History Online from anywhere around the world 24/7.

Why publish online?

Technology is pushing the boundaries in all markets and we need to embrace in our own. The hobby has many good printed magazines and as we found with a printed version of The Pathfinder they are limited in their scope.  Printing costs of magazines are enormous and this will only increase which can make it unviable.

With printed magazines you are limited with the amount of content you can publish as you are governed by the amount of pages you have.  Printed magazines have a very limited shelf life and are often recycled within eight weeks along with their rich content. This is a loss and a waste.

In the digital age the content will be around forever, we can build a massive and important archive that can be drawn down at an instant. Readership of print magazines is dropping dramatically even before the economic hard times and advertisers are moving towards their advertising spend online.

Being online allows us to publish full articles as we aren’t governed by space. It allows us to publish minute by minute. So no more waiting for a month for your magazine to be delivered – we can deliver all the news to your PC and to your smartphone instantly as and when it happens.
War History Online is pushing our hobby up to the next level.  Over the next two years smartphones will be your average phone so our market penetration has massive potential. Smartphones, PC  tablets and e-readers are a growing phenomenon .

Not only will we be appealing to everyone who can use a computer but we will also be appealing to the Face Book generation who have a full grasp on technology and who are the next generation who will be looking after our hobby and history and above all we aim to be carbon neutral as well.

Columnists.

War History Online is the first to have a selection of columnists from across our hobby.  Giving us their viewpoints that at times, may be controversial but will always be thought provoking, if you would like to submit articles for possible inclusion please contact us.

Unpublished authors.

The world is full of work from unpublished authors and War History Online offers a platform for them have their work published for the first time. This is important as if we do not encourage new authors we have no new material, history or discoveries  coming into our hobby. We are currently working with many unpublished authors and we are here to support them and to promote them.

If you have a story to tell or an article you have always wanted publish? Then we need to know –  email us – we would love to hear from you.
