Later, another machine gun was installed on the front of hull, two machine guns set available of 3,750 7’92 mm projectiles. The group reached the 23’8 tons and was operated by 3 crew. The Flammpanzer III had a good protection in front of the vehicle had bolted a plate of 30 mm on 50 mm core conferring effective protection frame of 80 mm while the side was 30 mm. The plate driver was slightly thinner reaching 70 mm (50 mm core and an iron bolted 20 mm) and the back is protected by a shield of 50 mm. The shielding available mantalete basic 50 mm to which was added a plate of 20 mm, while the sides and rear of the turret was 30 mm. Frontal protection of the vehicle had been designed to withstand the Soviet missiles and American 76 mm and 75 mm normal combat distances.
